Explore the common reasons behind payment declines.

Overview

In this article, we’ll show you how to understand declined payments better and how to in some cases solve the issue.

We have many reasons why credit cards can be declined, in this article it is the most common reasons. Usually, you can solve declines by either trying again later, trying a different card, or contacting your bank.

💡 Note: Accounts that are due for renewal but had a payment issue will be suspended until the issue is resolved.


Insufficient funds

This error indicates that your bank account has insufficient funds to cover this payment. It is recommended that you load your card with more funds or try another card.

Transaction not allowed

This issue indicates that the card issuer has declined the transaction for unspecified reasons (could be card related, or transaction specific).

In some cases for example, it could mean that the card cannot be used to make a purchase in USD (all our plans are charged in USD) Retries are unlikely to be successful until you contact your card issuer for more information, or try a different payment method.

Do not honor

This issue indicates that the issuer declined the transaction without providing an explanation. You should contact your card issuer for more information or try a different payment method. Retries may be successful.

Try again later

This issue is a very generic error and it is recommended you try to use a different card or try again later.

Incorrect Number

This error indicates that the card number, expiry date or CVV were entered incorrectly and you should try again with the correct details.
