Field Mapping Test

How to test and validate CRM field mappings in Lusha before your team starts exporting contacts, so errors are caught before they cause problems.

Written by Shir Zuriel

The Field Mapping Test lets admins validate their CRM field mappings before team members start exporting contacts. By running a test against a sample record, you can catch mismatches and data type errors early β€” saving time and preventing errors from reaching your CRM.

πŸ’‘ Note: Editing integration settings can only be done by the Lusha account's admin.

How it works

  1. After successfully connecting to your 3rd party tool (find integration guides here), go to the Field mapping screen.

  2. Select which object you'd like to enrich (for example, when using Salesforce: Leads, Contacts, or Accounts).

  3. Add a new field by clicking Add field at the bottom left and choosing the field you want to connect. If you already have fields set up, select an existing field and update it as needed.

4. Choose the correct field in the dropdown to connect to the Lusha field.

5. Click Test mapping at the bottom right.

6. If the test is successful, a pop-up will appear confirming approval. Click Save Mapping to continue.

πŸ’‘ Note: For test mapping purposes, Lusha adds a Sample Contact and Sample Account to your CRM. You can review and delete these entries after the test.

7. If the test detects an error, you'll see an error screen asking you to correct the Lusha field mapping.

FAQs

How do I access the Field Mapping Test feature?
Only admins can access this feature. Go to the integration page in your Lusha dashboard, click Connect or Manage for each integration, and navigate to the Field Mapping section.

What if my test shows errors?
The test will highlight any errors. Adjust the field mappings accordingly and re-run the test until all issues are resolved.

Can I test multiple field mappings at once?
Testing is field by field for optimal accuracy. If an error is found, you'll need to re-run the test to identify other potential issues.

Is the Field Mapping Test available for all CRMs?
The feature supports all major CRMs that integrate with Lusha. See the integration documentation for the full list.

How often should I use it?
Use this feature whenever you set up a new integration or make changes to existing field mappings.

What types of errors can it identify?
Mismatched fields, data type inconsistencies, and missing required fields. To learn more about field mapping types, see Fields for field mapping and descriptions.
