Overview

Lusha’s Auto Sequence feature automates the process of enrolling new leads into email sequences, helping sales teams engage faster, without manual intervention.
Whenever new contacts are added to a list, Auto Sequence immediately adds them to your chosen email sequence—eliminating delays, ensuring consistent outreach, and keeping your pipeline in motion.


This feature ensures that only qualified, revealed contacts are enrolled, giving you full control while saving valuable time.

💡 Auto Add to Sequence automatically adds new leads to email sequences the second they land on your list, ensuring faster engagement and higher conversions.

How it Works

Set your automation

  1. Within an existing contact list, select the specific contents on which you would like to activate the automation, or simply click the “Add to sequence” button at the upper panel.


  2. Then, set a sequence automation -

    1. Select contacts - ‘Only new contact’ or ‘All in this page (25 contacts)’ (default if no contact is selected).

    2. Select an email sequence - you can choose an existing sequence from your email sequences list or add a new sequence by typing a new sequence name or by clicking on ‘create a new email sequence’.

Then, click ‘Add contacts to a sequence’ .

Done! You’ll have the option to go back to the automation and edit it based on your needs.

💡 Note: When activating ‘Auto add to sequence’, the contact's emails will automatically be revealed (Auto-Show). Every email reveal uses 1 credit.

Manage your Automation

Via Lists

To manage your automation, click the automation symbol ⚡ (which will be added once you set your first automation) at the upper right side.

Via Engage

When a sequence is linked to automation, a lightning bolt icon ⚡ will appear next to the number of contacts on the main Sequences page:

Identifying Contacts Added via Automation

To see which contacts were added through automation:

  1. Click on the relevant sequence

  2. Go to the Contacts tab.

  3. Look for the ⚡ lightning icon next to the contact's name—this indicates they were added via automation.

  4. You can also click the lightning icon at the top to view the automation that added them.

What Happens when you edit or delete a sequence linked to Automation?

  • Deleting a sequence that is linked to a live automation will deactivate the automation.

  • Deactivating a sequence will not pause the linked automation. Contacts will still be added to the sequence, but emails will not be sent.

  • Discarding a sequence (moving it to the trash) will deactivate the linked automation.

Disable your automation

To disable automation, click on the lightning icon in the upper right corner of your screen to access the automation management panel. From there, you can turn off specific automation on specific lists, using the on/off toggle at any time.

⚒️ FAQs

Q: How do Auto Sequence and Auto-Show work together?
A: Auto Sequence relies on Auto-Show to reveal contact details (email/phone) before enrolling leads. Only revealed contacts matching your criteria are enrolled in the selected sequence.


Q: Will Lusha send emails without my approval?
A: No. Emails are only sent after you activate the email sequence. Once active, new contacts added through automation are automatically enrolled based on your queue and settings.


Q: Can I use different sequences for different lists?
A: Yes. Each list can have its own unique Auto Sequence automation linked to a different email sequence.


Q: Can I turn off automation for specific lists?
A: Absolutely. All automation is managed on a per-list basis, so you have full control over which lists are automated and which aren’t.


Q: What happens if I edit a sequence that’s already linked to automation?
A: You can freely edit the sequence. The automation will continue using the updated version unless the sequence is deleted or discarded.


Q: Can Auto Sequence be used with my CRM's built-in cadences?
A: While Lusha syncs data with your CRM, it does not enroll contacts into native CRM sequences or cadences. Sequences within Lusha or sales engagement platforms (like Outreach or Salesloft) remain separate.

Q: Is there a limit to the number of automations that can be set for each list?

A: Yes, currently you can set one Auto Add to Sequence automation per list. This automation applies to any new contact added to the list and ensures they're automatically enrolled in the selected sequence.
