Overview

Intent-based recommendations highlight companies that are actively researching topics relevant to your ideal customer profile (ICP).

We map intent topics to your account either through admin selection or using our internal algorithm, and use them to recommend companies most likely to be in-market within your ICP.

These recommendations appear in your Home screen alongside other AI-powered recommendation types. They help you prioritize outreach to accounts already showing interest in your category.

How it works

Intent data and our proprietary AI algorithm power intent-based recommendations.

Lusha compares these high-intent companies with your mapped intent topics and ICP, then recommends the ones most relevant to your business.

If your account has no manually mapped topics, Lusha will use calculated topics based on company keywords and specialties.

How topics are set

  • Only account admins can set intent topics.

  • Admins can choose topics manually or update them once every 30 days.

  • If no topics are manually set, Lusha will assign calculated topics based on your ICP.

  • Topic mapping impacts all users in the account.

  1. Under Account settings → Intent

  2. Within the intent recommendation list that you enter from the widget

Update frequency

While your intent-based recommendations are reviewed daily, the companies may not change every day. This is because intent signals update at varying intervals depending on a company’s research activity.

How to act on your recommendations

  1. Review Your List
    Click View all contacts/companies in the widget to open your tailored list.

  2. Reveal Details When You’re Ready

    • Select individual prospects or Select All to reveal up to 25 at once.

    • Revealing uses credits only when you choose Show details for a contact.

  3. Save to Lists

    • Save prospects to your Contact Lists or Company Lists to organize by campaign, segment, or priority.

    • You can save without revealing if you want to keep them for later.

  4. Send to Sequences (if using Engage)

    • Push relevant contacts into automated email sequences to start outreach immediately.

  5. Export to CRM

    • Sync selected prospects directly to your CRM for tracking and further engagement.

  6. Expand Your List

    • Scroll to the bottom and click Generate More Companies.

💡 Note: You can add an extra 25 recommended contacts or companies up to two times per day.

A: Yes. Intent signals are company-level indicators. Once you identify a relevant company, you can use Lusha to find and engage the right decision-makers within it.

Q: Where can I see my intent-based recommendations?

A: They appear in a dedicated widget within your Playlist Catalog alongside other recommendation types like reveal-based, CRM-based, and suggested searches.

Q: Can I select my own intent topics?

A: Only your account admin can select or change intent topics. If topics are not manually selected, Lusha will automatically map relevant ones based on your ICP and account history.

A: Accuracy improves when your account admin selects relevant intent topics that match your ICP. Over time, as you interact with your Playlist Catalog and engage with recommended accounts, our AI learns and fine-tunes your results.
