Why am I seeing a search activity limit?

Explains what Lusha's prospecting search activity limit is, why you might hit it, and how to get it reset.

Written by Carolina Portela

What is the search activity limit?

Lusha includes an internal search activity limit in the Prospecting feature. This is a fair-use measure designed to protect system performance and ensure consistent access for all users β€” it's not a credit limit or a plan restriction.

If you hit this limit, you'll see an error or find that your search results are temporarily restricted.

Why did I reach the limit?

The limit applies when your account performs a high volume of searches in a short period. Common scenarios include:

  • Running many large prospecting searches in quick succession

  • Exporting or scrolling through very large result sets repeatedly

  • Using automated workflows that trigger many searches at once

⚠️ Important: Hitting the search activity limit does not affect your credit balance. Your credits are safe and will not be deducted while the limit is active.

What should I do?

The search limit cannot be reset from within the Lusha dashboard β€” you'll need to contact support to have it cleared. Here's how:

  1. Open the chat icon in your Lusha dashboard, or email [email protected].

  2. Tell us you've hit the search activity limit and include your account email address.

  3. Our support team will reset the limit for you, usually within a few minutes during business hours.

πŸ’‘ Note: If you regularly hit the search limit, it may be worth reviewing how your team is using Prospecting searches. Spacing out large export jobs can help avoid triggering the limit.
