Welcome to the new era of prospecting with Lusha's Flex Search. This guide will help you navigate our enhanced search features, ensuring you find your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) or Total Addressable Market (TAM) more efficiently.

Overview

Lusha's Flex Search significantly advances how you search for prospects, offering an AI-powered, intuitive experience. Unlike traditional searches requiring meticulous filter adjustments, you can now enter queries such as “VP Marketing Boston Finance” directly. This AI integration allows for immediate, relevant results, which you can refine further using advanced filters.


How does it work?

Find your ideal customer profile (ICP)

  1. Login to your Lusha account and click on the “Prospecting” button in the right sid- bar menu.

  2. Select whether you're diving into Contacts or Companies.

  3. Type in the specifics of your ideal customer you're seeking, such as “VP Marketing Finance in Boston”.

  4. Use the side filters to adjust and focus your search on the precise ideal customer profile you’re looking for. Leverage filters like Employee headcount, Job changes, Funding, and more.

  5. Now that you found your prospects, click on the contact you’re interested in, then click the “Show Details” button to reveal their contact details.

💡Note: You can use "" for an exact search. For instance, if you would like to find an exact company name such as "York IE"


Find a specific contact details & Companies

To find a specific person you can use different easy query combinations:

  1. Click on the Contacts button under the search bar to make sure you get persons and not companies.

  2. Enter into the search bar the full name of your prospect, like: “John Doe”, and click enter.

  3. You can also combine name and company, like: “John Doe Acme Labs”

How to Find Companies

  1. Click on the Companies button under the search bar.

  2. Type the company name you’re looking for and press enter, or click the search button.

  3. You can also search for a variety of companies using location, industry, specialties and technology. For instance: “Finance Blockchain '', for Industry and Technology.

  4. After getting the results, you can click on a company row to open the right sidebar panel and explore more insightful data about a specific company.

  5. You can also click on the "View Employees" button to watch all the people who work in that company.


Search Using the Prospecting Filters

While the new search is powerful, you can also begin with filters to set specific parameters like location or industry directly.

  1. Enter the Prospecting platform

  2. Choose whether you want to search for Contacts or Companies, using the buttons under the search bar.

  3. Enter the values you want to each filter such as Location, Industry, Employee headcount and more.

  4. Now you can find the results according to your values you are filtering.

  5. To learn more about the contact or company from the results screen, click on the row and a sidebar will open with all the details.

  6. To reveal the contact details, click on the “Show details” button.

The new search flexibility allows you to use different combinations to query your desired ICP. Here are few suggestions to quickly find what you’re looking for:

💡Note: While this feature is still in Beta, the option to save new searches will not be available. However, you can easily access your recent searches by selecting the "Recent Activity" tab.


Next Steps After Finding Your Prospects

Once you found and revealed your ICP, contacts, or companies details you can continue your workflow seamless:

  1. Save to a list - curate all your prospects into a useful and manageable list

  2. Add to an automated email sequence via Lusha Engage- you can add all of the contacts you revealed directly to an automatic email sequence to connect with your prospects and monitor it directly from Lusha.

  3. Export directly to your CRM- save all the contacts or companies into your integrated CRM and marketing tools.

  4. Apply tags for organization - tag each of your contacts or companies to mark important stuff that will help you later.

  5. Export data to a CSV format for external use.

1. Q: What are the differences between the New Flex Search to the Classic mode search, and why should I use it?

A: The new search provides an easier and faster experience for finding ICPs, making it more intuitive for businesses to find their relevant prospects without the need to manually add different filters, it’s all been done automatically. Unlike the classic search, where users are able to search for specific contact names or companies, or use manual filters.

2. Q: Why is the new search feature labeled as Beta?

A: The Beta designation reflects the innovative nature of the search functionality, which significantly transforms our search algorithms and the approach businesses take in prospecting. We aim to ensure users fully grasp these changes, which is why we're also providing access to the classic mode. Additionally, we anticipate further enhancements and refinements to its logic in the upcoming period.

3. Q: Can I use both search modes?

A: Absolutely. You have the flexibility to alternate between the new and classic search modes at your convenience. However, we encourage exploring the new search to fully leverage its advanced features and optimize your Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) discovery.

4. Q: Are there any action differences between the new and classic search?

A: No. You can still do the same actions like saving to a list, push to CRM or an email sequence and displaying contact or company details, just easier and faster.

5. Q: Does the new search provide more results compared to the classic version?

A: Indeed. The enhanced flexibility of the new search system allows for a broader range of related results, enriching your search experience.

6. Q: Is it available for everyone?

A: Currently it’s available for a limited number of Free, Pro & Premium plans users and will gradually roll out to all users within the next 2 months.

7. Q: After upgrading from a self-serve plan (Free, Pro, Premium) to Enterprise, the new search feature isn't visible. What's the reason?

A: The new search is being incrementally introduced, beginning with our self-serve plans. However, we can expedite access to the new search for your Enterprise account upon request.
