Lusha’s lookalike feature inside Clay allows you to use a small list of "seed" examples- like your closed-won deals to generate a list of up to 5,000 similar companies or people. This tool solves the problem of manual prospecting by automating the discovery of high-fit leads based on job title, seniority, and company context.

In this guide, you will learn how to connect your account, configure your search, and enrich your results with Lusha data.

Prerequisites

  • An active Clay workspace.

  • A Lusha API key (Scale plan) or access to a Clay-managed Lusha account.

  • At least 5 seed identifiers (Company domains for companies; Work emails or LinkedIn URLs for people).

💡 Note: Using 10–20 seeds provides much higher accuracy.

Step 1: Create a Lookalike Table

  1. In your Clay workspace, click Create in the left sidebar.

  2. In the search bar, type Lusha.

  3. Select either Find company lookalikes with Lusha or Find people lookalikes with Lusha.

Step 2: Connect Your Lusha Account

  1. A dialog will prompt you to select an account.

  2. Choose your Personal Lusha key, a Teammate's key, or the Clay-managed Lusha account.

  3. Click Continue.

Step 3: Configure Search Inputs

  1. In the Company identifiers or Personal identifiers field, paste your seed list (e.g., salesforce.com or [email protected]).

  2. cite_start In the Exclusion fields, add domains or emails of existing customers or competitors you want to filter out.

  3. Set the Max results. The default is 5,000, but you can reduce this for a more focused list.

  4. Click Submit.

Step 4: Enrich Your Results

Once Clay populates the table with Names and LinkedIn URLs, you can pull in deeper data:

  1. Click + Add column in the table toolbar and search for Lusha.

  2. Select Enrich company (for company data) or Enrich person (for emails/phone numbers).

  3. In Column mapping, ensure Company Domain or Email is mapped to the corresponding Clay column.

  4. Click Continue to add fields and toggle on the data points you need, such as Employee count, Revenue, or Verified Email.

  5. Click Save and select Save and run.

Success State: Your table will now show a progress indicator as it populates with lookalike prospects and their enriched contact details.

💡 Note: When entering domains, you do not need to include https:// or www. — just the domain itself (e.g., lusha.com) works best.
