Decision Makers API

Understand how Decision Makers works, what it returns, and how to use it in your prospecting flow.

Written by Hila

Decision Makers is a Lusha API feature that identifies and ranks the contacts most likely to close a deal at any given company. It uses Lusha's verified contact database to surface the person with budget authority — the one whose yes matters most.

In most B2B deals, a buying committee is involved. Every member plays a different role, but only one person has final authority to approve the purchase. Decision Makers surfaces that person for any seller–company pair, so you spend less time guessing and more time selling.

This article explains what the feature includes, how it works, and what to keep in mind while it's in beta.

Key concepts

  • Decision maker: the contact with final authority to approve a purchase — typically the budget owner.

  • Seller–company pair: a combination of a selling entity and a target company for which Decision Makers returns ranked contacts.

  • Signal tier filtering: a parameter that lets you control the trade-off between precision (fewer, higher-confidence matches) and recall (more matches, broader net).

  • 2-step reveal: contacts are shown for free first; email and phone are only revealed when you explicitly request them.

What's included

  • Ranked contacts per company — Phase 1 covers ~155K companies matched in Lusha's database, grounded in verified data. Expansion to all 29M companies in Lusha's database is planned.

  • Batch support — query up to 20 companies in a single API call.

  • 2-step reveal pattern — view contacts at no cost; reveal email and phone only when you're ready.

  • Signal tier filtering — control precision vs. recall based on your use case.

  • Compatibility — works with any company prospecting flow.

How it fits your prospecting flow

Decision Makers is designed to slot into your existing company prospecting process. Once you've identified a target company, pass it to the API and get back a ranked list of decision makers at that company. From there, you can reveal contact details for the contacts you want to engage.

Because it supports batch requests, you can run it across a list of target accounts in one call — useful for account-based workflows where you're working many companies at once.

Availability and plan information

Decision Makers is currently available as a free beta via the Lusha API. Monetization is planned for a future release. Check back here for updates on pricing and plan availability.

💡 Note: Phase 1 covers approximately 155K companies in Lusha's accounts database. Coverage for all companies in Lusha's database is planned for a future release.

Now you're ready to find the right person at every account, faster.
